2020 Vintage Summary

Overall, the growing season in 2020 saw slightly warmer-than-average temperatures. Winter was mild and dry, yet bud-break and the start of the growing season was on par for historical averages. Spring brought minimal amounts of rainfall allowing for optimal canopy management. Summer was typical for Washington as it was dry, had long warm days with cool nights. The warm temperatures that continued into the Fall allowed for long hang times, slow ripening, and beautiful flavor development. Yields at harvest were below average, but the fruit was concentrated with great flavors.

Vinification

After harvest, the grapes for our 2020 Cabernet Sauvignon were destemmed and allowed to cold soak. Throughout fermentation, we performed several rack and returns for optimal extraction of color and flavor. A touch of oak aging provided distinct brown spice notes.

Tasting Notes

A stunning Cabernet Sauvignon with dark, exotic aromas of cassis, red rose, and dark chocolate. The palate is luscious and complex with layers of blackberry, cocoa, and a subtle lingering spice. Integrated tannins add length to the finish.
